We would like to thank you for your interest in our museum and in learning more about the wonderful history of the American Red Cross and the Frederick County Chapter. This collection has been assembled over a number of years and includes many rare and hard-to-find items and we are proud to share them with you. Our current chairman and long-time volunteer, Keith Roberson, has researched and documented many of the items you will see here and several booklets are available with more complete detailed descriptions, photographs and histories.  Please feel free to ask questions. UNIFORM DISPLAY

Our uniform collection includes many older and rare items from every era of Red Cross history. From original World War I, 29th Division Infantry and Nursing Services Capes and hats to current issue Services to Armed Forces uniforms. We also have an extensive collection and representation of many different American Red Cross hats, foreign hats, helmets andnursing caps as well as volunteer service shrouds and veils.

 

Museum_6.jpgNumerous lighted display cabinets showcase American Red Cross lines of service and proudly include almost every medal, badge, pin and ribbon used for honoring volunteers and staff and important events in our  history.

 

The museum features some special exhibits focusing on the British Red Cross, Japanese Red Cross, and Russian Red Cross. Many other nations and Red Cross and Red Crescent Socieits and organizations are represented.

MAGAZINES/PAPERS

The Information and History Center also houses almost every edition of the Red Cross Magazine, as well as the earlier copies of the Junior Red Cross magazine will also be available for research and documentation of our early history aRed_Cross_Signs.jpgnd services to the community.

PHOTOGRAPHS/POSTERS

While certainly not complete, our poster and photograph collection begins to document our organizations history through printed media and we are currently cataloguing and identifying many of the posters, cards and printed materials to include a vast array of family services, mursing, health and safety items as well as community events and activities.
