Help people affected by disasters by donating to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. On those rare occasions when donations exceed Red Cross expenses for a specific disaster, contributions are used to prepare for and serve victims of other disasters.

Throughout Frederick County, Red Cross volunteer respond to a disaster 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  In a community that feels the effects of fires, floods, and more, it's vital that the American Red Cross has the funds it needs to help victims of disasters every day.

The American Red Cross responds to approximately 75,000 disasters a year, including numerous wildfires, floods, storms, tornadoes, hurricanes and other disasters, providing aid to more disaster victims nationwide.  This means that every eight minutes a disaster strikes and a family turns to the Red Cross for help.  All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people.

Your local Red Cross Chapter is committed to meeting the humanitarian needs of the people in your area, be it in disaster preparedness, disaster response, first aid and CPR training, or disease prevention.  You can help support your local chapter's programs and services through a gift to the Frederick County Chapter.

One person can make a difference.  You can make a difference. It happens every day, and it sustains our goals for tomorrow.  For more information, please contact the Chapter by calling 301-662-5131 or by emailing Judy Peterson, Supervisor of Chapter Operations.
